We Made It!

Rain, rain, rain, repeat...that pretty much sums up our drive-but....we made it!  We have arrived to Catawba Baptist Church where we will be staying for the week.  Our showers are in trailers outside, so that will be an experience for many.  We have included a few pictures of our day.

Deana and Katie are on squad Victor and will be roofing for the week.  Katie is also medic for  her crew.  Andrew, Clarissa and Kacey are on crew Zulu painting and Kacey is devotion leader.  Catie and Allie are in the crew Sierra painting a house and Jana is the construction leader for their crew.  Erik and Don are in crew Yankee painting, Erik is a break master and Don is medic.  Colton is medic and Isaiah is Devotion leader and they are both on crew Quebec painting a house.  Mark is the construction leader for the crew X-Ray and is in charge of roofing a house for the week.  Abby is squad leader for Delta and will be working on a roof all week.

Tonight we had a very good worship service with some great praise and worship.  Some of the youth said that the speaker was lighthearted yet still serious.  The speaker asked us to think about why we came.  During our devotions a few of the youth shared the reasons they came.
-help people
-find Christ
-spread my faith

We have only had one group devotion and already the bonds are forming.

Our theme for the week is denial.  We will be focusing on the bible poster child for denial....Peter.  Tonight we read Matthew 26:69-75 about Peters denial.  The speaker made a point that hit home with many, "Even when you choose to deny Christ, He will still redeem and restore you".

A few questions he left us to ponder that we will share with you to ponder throughout your week:
Will I choose to deny Christ?
With I choose to take a stand?
Will I give only 1/2 my heart?
Will I give everything I have and everything I am?
